Spray Tower

A spray tower, also known as a spray scrubber or wet scrubber, is an air pollution control device used to remove pollutants and particulate matter from industrial gas streams. It is commonly employed in various industries, including power plants, chemical plants, refineries, and manufacturing facilities.

The basic principle of a spray tower involves the use of liquid sprays to capture and remove pollutants from the gas stream. Here's a general overview of how it works:

Gas Inlet: The gas stream containing pollutants enters the spray tower through an inlet. This gas stream may contain various pollutants such as dust, particulate matter, gases, or odorous compounds.

Liquid Sprays: Inside the spray tower, liquid sprays are introduced. The liquid can be water or a chemical solution, depending on the specific pollutants to be removed. The liquid is typically atomized into small droplets to maximize contact with the gas stream.

Contact and Absorption: As the gas stream passes through the spray tower, the liquid droplets come into contact with the pollutants. The pollutants can be absorbed by the liquid droplets through various mechanisms, such as dissolution, chemical reactions, or physical impaction.

Particle and Gas Removal: The liquid droplets, now containing the captured pollutants, continue to move downward in the tower due to gravity. As they descend, the droplets grow in size by coalescing with each other and capturing more pollutants. Eventually, the droplets and captured pollutants settle at the bottom of the tower, where they are collected and removed.

Clean Gas Outlet: The cleaned gas stream, with a reduced concentration of pollutants, exits the spray tower through an outlet at the top. Additional treatment steps, such as filtration or further gas cleaning, may be applied if necessary.

The flue gas from the bag dust collector is sucked by the induced draft fan and enters the two-stage spray tower for spray washing to remove the acid gas in the flue gas. By controlling important factors such as the deacidification liquid, flue gas flow pattern, deacidification liquid atomization state, droplet residence time, and reasonable liquid-to-gas ratio, the ideal absorption effect is achieved, thereby ensuring that the content in the flue gas meets emission requirements.
